A chronic back injury kickstarted my journey into the world of fitness.

My name is Dann, and sport has been a part of my life for decades. Track and field, marathon running, triathlon, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, powerlifting, tennis, skateboarding . . . I’ve done it all. And then a back injury convinced me that I had to change my goals around fitness and movement for the rest of my life.

That changed when I started working with a strength coach who placed an emphasis on proper movement mechanics. She did what several health and fitness professionals had tried and failed to do over the previous seven years — she got me back on my bike without pain.

Since that life-changing interaction, I’ve been committed to masterful movement. I found that many health and fitness professionals don’t understand the importance of fostering movement quality. So I decided to start teaching it myself and helping people like you become stronger, more durable, and more confident in tackling life’s challenges.

Now I help people around the country by working with them wherever they are in their fitness journey.

Are you trying to set a new personal record in Olympic weightlifting? Or looking to be able to pick up your grandkids without pain? Are you aiming to run your first marathon? Or are you hoping to be able to maintain independent function as you age?

Are you local, here in Colorado? Or somewhere else in the country? Maybe you move to a new city somewhere else in the world every few months. Or you’re never quite sure where you’ll be next.

Whatever your goals, wherever you are, we can work together to get you to your goals through a focus on movement quality and functional strength-building. We can do it here, in Colorado. We can do it with remote or virtual personal training sessions. Or I can provide you with a personalized training plan that you execute on your own. If none of those sound like they’ll work, we can find a way that works for you.

I hold one of those most well-respected certifications in the strength and conditioning world.

My education started with a bachelor’s degree in health promotion. To further my education in one-on-one coaching, I’ve become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association is one of the most sought-after credentials in the strength and conditioning world and focuses on applying scientific principles to improve athletic performance. It’s required to work as a strength coach in the MLB and NFL.

I’m also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and regularly coach group fitness classes at CrossFit Longmont.
